HSE University Hosts Discussions on Coordinating Russia's Initiatives within the Women's Twenty
On February 24, the Durasov House, a part of HSE University’s Pokrovka Campus, became the setting for a meeting of the Russian Chapter of the Women Twenty (W20) Working Group. Focused on education, the digital divide, and artificial intelligence (AI), the event brought together prominent experts, including Victoria Panova, Head of the BRICS Expert Council – Russia and Vice Rector at HSE University, alongside Evgeniy Terentev, Oksana Sinyavskaya, Maya Mlyakova, Fuad Aleskerov, Olga Savinskaya, and Sergey Kosaretsky. Together, the participants explored strategies to advance Russia’s scientific, educational, and technological initiatives on the global stage.

1st BRICS+ Blind Football International Friendly Tournament
The 1st Blind Football International Friendly Tournament of professional teams of BRICS countries and partner nations became the last athletic event of Russia's BRICS Chairship. The competition featured eight teams from seven countries: Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.

First HSE CS x BRICS Ideathon Held at HSE University
On December 8, 2024, HSE’s Pokrovka campus hosted the first HSE CS x BRICS Ideathon, organised by the Hackathon Club of the Faculty of Computer Science and the HSE Multilateral Strategic Projects Office. The event was supported by the BRICS Expert Council–Russia, which endorsed the initiative as part of HSE's activities in the BRICS Network University.

Final Meeting of BRICS Sherpas/Sous-sherpas Held in Yekateringurg
On 26-28 November 2024, Yekaterinburg hosted the closing BRICS Sherpas/Sous-Sherpas meeting under the chairship of Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Russia’s Sherpa in BRICS.

Representatives From HSE University Took Part in The X BRICS International Youth Summit
The X BRICS International Youth Summit was held in Ulyanovsk on July 22–26. For the first time, the event brought together representatives of youth organizations, students, and activists from all BRICS countries, including new members of the group: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. Among the attendees of the summit were representatives of the BRICS Expert Council, which was established at HSE University following an order by the Russian Government at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance. The Council performs expertise, analysis, and academic research on the most relevant issues of political, socio-economic and humanitarian cooperation among the BRICS members.

The IX BRICS Civil Forum Brought Together Over 600 Representatives of Civil Society
On July 3–4, Moscow hosted the IX BRICS Civil Forum, which was attended by representatives from every new member state of the group. The event was organized by the BRICS Expert Council-Russia, in line with the official calendar of events for Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024. This Forum became a landmark event, marking an important milestone in the institutionalization of the BRICS civil society process under Russia's Chairship.

‘We Work to Create a More Prosperous, Fair, and Safe World’
On July 3–4, 2024, the IX BRICS Civil Forum was held in Moscow for the first time since the association was expanded by five new countries in January 2024. Participants emphasised the importance of personal interaction between public figures, civil activists, as well as the work they do to strengthen and enrich friendly relations between BRICS countries, based on mutual respect. The forum was organised by the BRICS Expert Council–Russia, which is established at the HSE University.

BRICS Countries Support HSE University’s Project to Launch Fair Competition Platform
A meeting of the BRICS Coordination Committee on Antimonopoly Policy was held in Geneva as part of Russia's BRICS Chairship in 2024. The meeting participants supported a project to launch a BRICS Interstate Platform on Fair Competition, developed by the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre of HSE University and presented by the FAS of Russia as an initiative of the Russian Chairship.
